Hello everyone,
My name is Jerome, I’m living in Singapore since 2019.
I’m passionate about learning and sharing. Currently deep diving in topics around Gestalt and Organisation Development, where I really find myself.
Two things about me:
– I stand to invite people to discover a different beautiful version of themselves.
– I really like spicy food
As I’m conscious I’m writing the first comment, this may evolve through time.
Thanks, Jerome, for sharing your LinkedIn. I “connected” there – no obligation. Meanwhile, your lego profile picture made me smile!
Taking your lead on two things about me:
– I believe everyone is an improviser at some level, where playfulness can be accessed (my little blog post/essay – feral improviser, https://www.shirleyfrivera.com/blog/feral-improviser)
– I have an instagram account with a few friends where we document littered dental floss picks (please don’t litter, but keeping up dental hygiene is a good thing, LOL)
And my social URLs are in my intro – https://pkm.jarche.ca/introductions/comment-page-1/#comment-2253
Hello,
I am back to this workshop after over a decade! Very different environment for knowledge mastery!
I am an strategy and organizational consultant (and beginning to move into some advising) based in Barcelona, with 25 years of experience in NGOs, public administrations, and small and large companies. AI is becoming increasingly present in all the projects I work on, and I anticipate that it will be an unavoidable topic of conversation during the workshop.
I had a degree in business administration, a master’s degree in Information and Knowledge Society, and obtained my doctorate with a thesis entitled “On Tricksters and Bricoleurs: Methodologies of The Imaginary for Critical Management Innovation.” Following my research work, in recent years I have been taking courses to better understand Platonism and myth hermeneutics by ancient Greek philosophers. I have discovered that Platonism is much more interesting and relevant to my work than the cocktail party version of Platonism that was explained to me in high school.
I co-host a podcast in Spanish called Mitos y Memes (Myths and Memes) in which I talk with my partner how Humanities and the culture of Internet feed us to better understand and work for teams and organizations: https://www.ivoox.com/podcast-mitos-memes_sq_f11273535_1.html
Nice to see another alum, Toni. I “connected” at your LinkedIn – no obligation.
I first took Harold’s workshop in 2015 and still have archived notes in my Google drive! Do you also have any notes from back in the day?
And as you shared – “Very different environment for knowledge mastery!” – INDEED! And I would add such a different environment with the increase of having to suss out facts, truths, disinformation, etc. – thus the continued importance of knowledge mastery.
And ahhh yes – I, too, love spicy food!
Hi everyone,
It sounds like there are diverse interests and skills in this group, which will undoubtedly make for good conversations throughout the course!
I’m a lecturer in the School of Education at the University of Exeter. I have many interests, including reflective practice; creativity; pastoral / spiritual support (including through creative methods such as journaling, drawing, collage); and working across disciplinary lines. I’ve recently written a research methods book about personal knowledge management (I cite Harold multiple times!), positioning it as a form of postqualitative inquiry — which I have used to inform my own research.
This is my second time taking this course, after it was recommended to me by Shirley Rivera (who will also participate in this cohort).
I’m looking forward to seeing what has changed since last time and whether the content and/or the conversations change my feelings about AI!
Hello workshop alum! I’ve finally made it here, Ms. Caitlin.
I am excited for your research methods book about PKM – and of course Harold must be cited!
And like you, I also am curious what tweaks Mr. Harold has made since the previous workshop, for which I enjoyed those updates.
And given Jerome and Toni mentioned they like spicy food, and I did as well . . . where are you on the spicy food front?
I’m Shirley, living in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, in a town called Union City. I first joined PKMastery in 2015 and have rejoined on/off throughout the years. And I’ve also been part of other PKM-related courses since 2020.
One of my favorite quotes from Harold, which keeps me coming back – “PKM is not so much about creating knowledge but rather the development of conscious regular activities from which new knowledge can emerge. The knowledge artifacts created along the way are only as good as the use to which they are put.”
(blog reference – https://jarche.com/2010/09/variations-on-a-theme-of-pkm/)
I have several diverse areas in which I work, volunteer, interact, and think about. As a Filipino American solopreneur, I serve as a consultant (air quality, energy projects, environmental communications), coach (behavior design/habits, applied improv), and cultivator of conversations (for example, chats about social justice or workspace fairness). I also serve as carer for my fiercely independent Mom. AND who doesn’t like alliteration (e.g., consultant, coach, cultivator, carer) every once in a while?
Thanks for taking the time to read my intro and maybe even visit my socials.
p.s. I also appreciate Harold’s workshop content because his Seek Sense share framework – as described in his “PKM in 34 pieces” (https://jarche.com/2013/10/pkm-in-34-pieces/) – continues to meander around in my brain and influence my relationship with thinking, learning, knowledge, and expression. And he make interesting updates and tweaks to the workshop content.
OH! one fun thing I am doing, tangentially related to the PKM space – I am part of a 3-person writers room (social, not professional) which started in late 2023. We strive to write sketch comedy about and around PKM. It has since evolved into trying out other mediums of expressing humor and comedy (e.g., essays, monologues, etc.). We mostly transform our silly rants about the productivity + PKM + peak performance “guru” space into comedy and humor.

Welcome back, Toni!
Welcome Tony,
I connect to the sense of bricoleurs 🙂
See you in a corner of a conversation around AI or not 🙂
